All right Bethany College you better step up our game. In the year 2019 culture was what Bethany was about. We went to all the games and we had social gatherings. It was a blast getting to meet one another on our small campus. But during 2020 everything changed, masks were mast and people didn’t go out of their dorm rooms. We had classes online and zoom. And I’m sure you were graduating high school in the year 2020 you know all about this.

Moving on to where we should be as a college and its culture. Culture is something that we thrive off of Bethany, without culture Bethany is merely just a college. We used to support all of our teams. We used to have all of our clubs. There used to be so many clubs nobody could really count them on two hands. And now it’s merely maybe eight clubs that are active now.

Change. Change is what we need here on campus. The freshman that came in, in August are doing a great job of that now. But we need to keep going and we need to keep pushing to keep Bethany College alive. Being at all the games and supporting our athletes that give 110% every practice a every game is something that we should thrive off of. Going to clubs and functions and gatherings that we do have on campus like big brew and also little socials here and there. This is what Bethany is about.

One time when I was at a volleyball game, my freshman year it was so loud in there I had to step out of the gym. And now when I go to watch any games there’s barely even a whisper or even anybody screaming at all. This needs more students active throughout the campus and wanting to do things that college offers.

Coming from a senior that’s been here all four years, I understand it’s hard to attend every function and every social. But it’s even worse when we have the socials and only five people show up. If you want Bethany College to be a great experience in what you want in a college you need to step it up and be something that we need here at Bethany.

Cheer for that team. Join that club. Be a part of something that you would never be a part of before. Give the spirit, give the pride, give the effort and Bethany college could become a very special place.
